Luminet was a highly specialised telecom portal built on a custom PHP backend that aggregated real-time data from the UK’s largest fibre and internet providers. The platform allowed both end-customers and resellers to instantly discover which providers served a specific address, compare pricing, and even initiate quotes and contracts directly through the system.
Although the portal is no longer live, it ultimately became a key digital asset that helped the client secure a multi-million-pound acquisition by Elevate.uk, proving the long-term strategic and commercial value of the technology we built.
The system was engineered to pull availability and pricing data from numerous Tier-1 and Tier-2 connectivity providers across the UK. Using Melissa address validation, Google Maps, and postcode-level filtering, the portal could instantly map a user’s location and return all viable internet options.
Custom PHP backend portal with high-performance architecture
API integrations with major UK fibre and broadband providers (real-time availability, speeds, SLAs, wholesale pricing, etc.)
Address validation via Melissa and Google Maps
Full postcode → premises → provider coverage logic
Ability for users or resellers to generate quotes on the fly
Integrated workflow to send proposals and sign contracts
Custom admin panel enabling resellers to manage leads and submissions
Performance-optimised search logic for nationwide datasets
Strong caching strategy for provider lookups
The portal solved a major pain point in the telecom industry: finding accurate, real-time availability for business-grade fibre at the exact building level.
Its technical sophistication and business value ultimately helped the client secure a multi-million-pound exit, with the platform being acquired by Elevate.uk as part of a broader connectivity strategy.
Even though Luminet is no longer publicly accessible, it remains one of our standout backend projects — a demonstration of how custom engineering, API integration, and smart UX can create a commercial asset powerful enough to contribute directly to a company’s acquisition.
