HELLO WORLD… AGAIN :)
If you’ve been building software long enough, you know this phrase never really gets old.
For us, “Hello World” first happened back in September 2010. A small team. Big curiosity. A lot of late nights.
Two people, working from a kitchen table — figuring things out as we went.
Fast-forward to January 2026, and here we are again — launching a completely new Lantera website and opening a brand-new blog.
So yes…
Hello World. Again.
From Magento 1 to… well, a lot more :)
We started our journey deep in the world of Magento 1.
Back when deployments were stressful, caches were mysterious, and “just one small change” could take the whole store down.
Over the years, we didn’t abandon that expertise - we expanded it.
Today, Lantera works across:
- Magento 2 (custom modules, performance tuning, complex catalogs)
- Shopify & Shopify Plus
- BigCommerce (Stencil & headless)
- Custom SaaS & B2B platforms
- Laravel + React / Next.js portals
- Widgets, integrations, automations, APIs
Same core mindset - just a much wider toolbox.
Apps, marketplaces & a bit of controlled chaos
Somewhere along the way, we stopped only building for clients and started building products.
We’ve developed and released multiple BigCommerce, Shopify, and Magento apps, shipped them to marketplaces, survived review processes, compliance checks, edge cases, and those fun “works in sandbox, breaks in production” moments.
We’ve learned how merchants actually use apps - not just how they’re supposed to use them. That experience changed how we build everything else.
What this blog is (and isn’t)
This blog won’t be corporate fluff or “10 reasons why eCommerce is important in 2026”.
Instead, you’ll find:
- Real technical insights from real projects
- Architecture decisions (and mistakes we learned from)
- Performance, scaling, integrations, SaaS lessons
- eCommerce quirks that no documentation mentions
- Occasional opinions (politely stubborn ones)
And yes - probably a bit of humor. Because if you can’t laugh at a broken deploy at 2 AM, you won’t survive this industry.
Same company. More experience. Bigger scope
Lantera today is still the same company that started in 2010 - just with more battle scars, better instincts, and a much broader vision.
We didn’t change direction.
We expanded it.
